Summer does not officially arrive until June 21, but the National Weather Service is forecasting summer-like temperatures for the end of the week.

Although today is forecast to be much like Monday – 82 degrees with a breeze – there’s a warming trend in the works. By Friday, Sacramento is likely to have its first 90-degree day of the year.

The much warmer weather is expected to linger into the weekend as a high pressure system provides hot but not torrid temperatures.
