Update: Cooler weather forecast for the upcoming week in Sacramento

After a few days of above-average temperatures, Sacramento can expect cooler weather for the next few days. The National Weather Service predicted a slightly below-average high of 80 for Sunday.

On Saturday, the temperature at Sacramento Executive Airport reached a high of 89, while downtown saw temperatures top out at 93, slightly higher than normal.

“We’re looking at temperatures trending back down toward the normals for this time of year,” said Karl Swanberg, a National Weather Service forecaster based in Sacramento. He attributed the shift to an increase in the Delta breeze, beginning Sunday.

Swanberg predicted that temperatures would be in the low 80s through Thursday.
