Mother Nature apparently wants to remind us that summer doesn’t end for another nine days.
Temperatures in the Sacramento area are expected to rise to 100 degrees Saturday and Sunday, marking three days in a row of triple-digit heat, according to the National Weather Service.
That’s hotter than usual for this time of year, said Johnnie Powell of the service’s Sacramento office. The average high is 89 degrees. The record for consecutive 100-degree days in September is five.
Temperatures should drop back down to the mid-90s on Monday, Powell said.
