Cooling on the way for Sacramento

High pressure is expected to weaken enough this week that Sacramento could see some temperatures that are more like autumn.

Sacramento has had four straight days in the mid-90s. The high on Monday was 96 degrees.

The National Weather Service predicts that the region could finally cool off into low 80s by Friday. That’s the normal high for early October in Sacramento.

The high on Tuesday is expected to come in at 91. Temperatures this morning around 3:30 a.m. were a bit milder than 24 hours earlier, according to the NWS.

No rain is forecast. Viewing is expected to be clear for the lunar eclipse on Wednesday night.
