High temperatures are expected to be below 90 degrees Wednesday in the Sacramento region.

The National Weather Service is calling for a high of just 89 degrees Wednesday. The high Tuesday in Sacramento was 94 degrees, following 100 degrees on Monday.

The delightful Delta breeze began Tuesday night, lowering temperatures throughout the area. The breeze is expected to continue Wednesday night, making for an even cooler day on Thursday.

The mild conditions are forecast to continue through the weekend. But look out for early next week because forecasters predict nearly 100 degrees by Monday.

The detailed, seven-day forecast for the Sacramento region:

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 8 to 10 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. South wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 86. South-southwest wind around 9 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58. South wind 7 to 11 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind around 6 mph.

Friday night: Clear, with a low around 59.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 60.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 93.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 61.

Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 97.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 63.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100.
