Below normal temperatures are forecast through the weekend but next week a sizzling string of summer days are expected to arrive with temperatures exceeding 105 degrees in Sacramento.

Temperatures around 90 degrees are predicted through Sunday thanks to a low pressure system. The mild conditions will abruptly change next week when a high pressure system builds off the west coast.

The warm-up begins Monday with readings in the mid-90s in the Sacramento region. The rapid warm-up is predicted to occur Tuesday through Friday with 100 degrees or more in the forecast.

The detailed, 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service for the Sacramento region:

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 58. South southeast wind 6 to 8 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 91. South southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 59. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 89. South southwest wind around 8 mph.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 61.

Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 96.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 64.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 102.

Tuesday night: Clear, with a low around 66.

Wednesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 106.
