Cooler weather is in the forecast for Sacramento.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 80s beginning Monday, after reaching triple-digits last week.

“We just had a really strong ridge of high pressure last week,” said Tom Dang, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. “We finally settled back … into a series of low pressure.”

Sunday’s high temperature is expected to reach 90 degrees, which is slightly below normal for this time of year.

The low pressure will bring more thunderstorms to the Sierra Nevada, Dang predicted. No precipitation is in the forecast for Sacramento, he said.
