Less smoke and heat for next two days in Sacramento

Temperatures are milder this morning, the harbinger of two day of below average temperatures in Sacramento.

Sunday was a hot one. The high in Sacramento was 98 degrees.

However, that’s all in the forecaster’s rear view mirror because a low pressure system is expected to deliver two days of afternoon highs that will be about 10 degrees lower than Sunday’s swelter.

The high today is forecast to be 89 degrees, with 88 degrees expected on Tuesday. Normal for Aug. 10 is 93 degrees.

Also expected as the air mass cools, will be the increase in onshore wind. Breezy afternoons are forecast.

Smoke from fires burning in Lake County is expected to be swept north and not spoil Sacramento skies. The detailed, 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service for the Sacramento region:
