A string of fairly mild days is forecast for the Sacramento region.
So far, Sacramento has had only had two days of 100-degree heat or hotter in August. The record books say that the average number of days in August with a maximum temperature of 100 or hotter is six.
The temperature in Sacramento Monday morning was about the same as 24 hours earlier, according to the National Weather Service. The high on Sunday was 91 degrees.
Today’s maximum is predicted to be a couple of degrees warmer. Most of the rest of the week is expected to be warm but not scorching hot, the daily maximum coming in around 95 degrees.

It’s a long way away, but the weekend weather could be delightful. The month is expected to round out with temperatures in the high 80s on Saturday and Sunday in Sacramento.
