Another hot one today in Sacramento, but weekend holds promise of cool temps

A high of 96 degrees is forecast for Wednesday in Sacramento but the weekend looks much cooler.

Thursday looks even hotter with an afternoon high predicted to be 99 degrees. The main change in the forecast does not happen until Saturday when the daytime high is expected to be 86 degrees.

Sunday is also predicted to be pleasant with a high of 85 degrees. The normal high temperature in Sacramento in late August is 91 degrees.

Wednesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 96. South wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. South-southeast wind 3 to 8 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 99. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming west-northwest in the afternoon.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south after midnight.

Friday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 96. South-southeast wind around 6 mph.

Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 85.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.
