August ends and September begins without a scorcher

It looks like August in Sacramento will end with five days in which the temperature reached 100 degrees.

Monday is expected to be hot, but not triple-digit hot. The National Weather Service is predicting that the mercury will rise to 92 degrees this afternoon in Sacramento.

After that, the week looks comparatively cool with temperatures in the 80s. The average high in early September is 91 degrees.
