After a late-summer scorcher on Monday, the weather on Tuesday should be much cooler.

The official high in Sacramento was 100 degrees, which was short of the record of 103 set in 1987. A record was set at Sacramento’s Executive Airport where the mercury hit 102 degrees on Monday, breaking the old mark of 100 set in 2011.

A Delta breeze was carrying cool ocean air into the valley Tuesday morning. Cooler temperatures will return Tuesday as high pressure weakens and onshore breezes pick up, according to the National Weather Service.

The next two days in Sacramento will be comfortable weather-wise. A high of 86 degrees is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.
