Cooler weather is in the forecast for the next few days before a high pressure system brings hot temperatures back to the Sacramento region.
The National Weather Service is predicting a high temperature of 91 degrees for Sunday, which will drop to 80 by Wednesday before rising back into the low 90s. Karl Swanberg, a weather service forecaster, said September has been warmer than normal, but the trend is not unusual.
“We’re still in September, and there’s plenty of sunshine,” he said.
Average temperatures for this time of year hover around 86 degrees, according to Swanberg. No precipitation is expected for the next week, he said.
