Blowing in on the heels of the weekend storm that swept through the region, winds will buffet Sacramento on Monday.
Gusts will reach 30 mph, the National Weather Service predicts, drying a region that saw significant precipitation for a third consecutive weekend.
“Usually after a strong frontal system, we get the north winds that come in,” said Jason Clapp, a NWS forecaster in Sacramento. That frontal system left about a third of an inch of rain in the valley and dumped several inches of snow in the Sierra.
Aside from the winds, sunny skies are in store for the region after the morning clouds clear out. Downtown Sacramento is expected to hit a high temperature of 58 degrees. The region will warm throughout the week, with highs ranging into the mid-60s. Patchy fog will appear in some areas.
