A sunny Thanksgiving is forecast after a little rainstorm moves through Sacramento this week.

The weather on Monday will be warm and sunny. A high of 66 degrees is forecast for Sacramento.

Then, on Tuesday, around the morning commute, some rainy weather could visit the area. The National Weather Service is forecasting a chance of rainfall before 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacramento.

Rainfall amounts will be light, but welcome. A total of 1.31 inches of rainfall have been recorded in November. Normal for the entire month is 2.43 inches.

Snow accumulation expected from the storm: 12-to-18 inches along the crest of the Sierra Nevada, 6-to-12 inches down to 4,000-feet elevation, around 4 inches in the Mother Lode and perhaps a couple of inches down to 1,500 feet.

Thanksgiving day is expected to be on the cool side with a high of just 53 degrees. Fall colors are expected to be brilliant in the afternoon sun.

Sacramento's many trees make the city especially susceptible to street flooding. Residents should proactively reduce the risk by clearing leaves before the storm. Watch for more tips on how to protect your home from flooding. Featuring Sammy Caiol
