The foggy shroud that enveloped Sacramento Tuesday morning is expected to be repeated tomorrow - but a rainy change is on the way.
Visibility was at a quarter-mile around Sacramento’s Executive Airport at 6:30 a.m. as lingering ground moisture from last week’s rainy weather provided the right ingredient for the foggy conditions.
Areas of dense fog are expected to burn off by 11 a.m. in the Sacramento region, according to the National Weather Service. The same forecast is in place for Wednesday as the fog makes a return visit.
The weather begins to change on Thursday, with an absence of fog and sunny skies for most of the day. Then, rain is likely on Friday, according to the NWS.
The air mass with the next series of storms is expected to pack quite a bit of moisture because the weather makers are originating from an area near Hawaii. Temperatures are predicted to be mild.
Snow levels are forecast to be high, limited to Sierra peaks. Trans-Sierra highways will likely remain wet with rain not coated with snow.
