The National Weather service is predicting three damp days, although not much rain is destined for the Sacramento area.

As a Pacific storm system moves through the north state on Friday, the valley could see moderate rainfall, according to forecasters. Less than a half inch is predicted through Sunday.

However, the foothills and mountains might see up to several inches of precipitation.

Snow levels Friday will be above 8,000 elevation, according to the NWS. Then, snowfall levels will rapidly drop as colder air associated with a weather front mixes in.

Travel into the mountains could be hindered by the oncoming cold front Friday night and Saturday. Fewer showers are predicted for Sunday.
