Another warm day in store for Sacramento area

More high temperature records may be broken or tied today as a high pressure system produces warm days and dry weather.

The ridge of high pressure could weaken slightly later in the week, bringing light precipitation to extreme Northern California. However, the ridge is expected to rebuild, pushing storms north of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather today is expected to mirror Monday when records were matched or broken around the north state.

Temperature records for the date were toppled Monday at two Sacramento locations, with downtown Sacramento topping out at 74 degrees and Executive Airport at 75 degrees.

The previous records were 72 degrees and 69 degrees, respectively, both set in 2006.

The high today downtown is expected to be 72 degrees. The record for Feb. 9 is 73 degrees, a mark set in 2006.

The normal high for early February in Sacramento is around 60 degrees. The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region for the NWS:
