Sacramento gets breezy day with possible sprinkles before sunny weekend

Look for a breezy day with a chance of showers in Sacramento on Friday.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 40 percent chance of rain after 10 a.m. Wind gusts could reach 20 mph.

Forecasters say that clouds will clear over Sacramento for a mostly sunny weekend. Next week looks dry with nary a raindrop in sight.

This week’s rainstorm dropped a total of 0.82 of an inch in Sacramento. So far this rainfall year, the city has received 10.26 inches, which is 77 percent of normal for Feb. 19.

The detailed, seven-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Friday: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly after 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. South wind 7 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday night: A 40 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m. Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. South wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 63. North-northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.

Saturday night: Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 42. North-northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

Sunday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming north-northwest around 6 mph in the morning.
