February is turning out to be a disappointing month when it comes to rainfall in Sacramento.
Usually one of the wettest months of the year, the month has been characterized by warm days in the 70s and blue skies. Normally, February has many more days of gray skies.
The average rainfall in February is 3.82 inches. But as of Sunday only 0.85 of an inch has fallen -- with most of the month already expired.
On only three days has rain been recorded in Sacramento in February 2016: 0.03 on Feb. 2, 0.57 on Feb. 17 and 0.25 on Feb. 18.

Each day that the region comes up dry, Sacramento falls behind in rainfall for the season. Since Oct. 1, the area has received 10.26 inches, which is 75 percent of normal for the season as of late February.
Dry and warm weather is expected to continue through the work week. Look for afternoon temperatures in the 70s, light winds and sunny skies.
