Today is expected to be the warmest day of the week with a high of 75 degrees forecast for Sacramento on St. Patrick’s Day.

The warm temperatures and clear skies are expected to continue through half of the weekend. Temperatures are forecast to remain in the 70s through Saturday.

On Sunday, skies are expected to be cloudy and the National Weather Service is predicting a 30 percent chance of rain. Computer models are pointing toward a return to a wet weather pattern.

It has not rained since Monday. Rainfall for the season stands at 14.78 inches, which is 90 percent of normal for mid-March.

At Wallace Weir, officials announced improvements to the region’s fish and farming management.

The weather service notes that it is still too early to tell how much rain and snow Northern California will receive on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento:

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 49. Light and variable wind.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48. South southeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 72. South wind around 5 mph.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68.

Monday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64.
