High pressure building over the west coast will bring sunny days through the weekend in Sacramento.

While the Sierra Nevada is forecast to have some light snow showers today, the Sacramento area is predicted to see sunny skies. Chances for snow in the mountains will end by Tuesday evening.

Another cool day is expected with a high of just 62 degrees forecast for Sacramento. However, warmer daily high temperatures are forecast for the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 41. North northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 68. North northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 72.
