Sacramento spring looks warm and dry

A replay of Tuesday’s weather is forecast for today.

Temperatures Wednesday morning were running very similar to Tuesday. The high temperature on Tuesday was 65 degrees in Sacramento. Today’s maximum is predicted to be much the same: 67 degrees.

The National Weather Service is forecasting that an upper level high pressure ridge off the Pacific coast will bring sunny skies. A light north-northwest breeze could get up to 11 mph today.

The first hint of the return of rainfall is Sunday night when the forecasters predict a slight chance of showers in the Sacramento region. A detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento area:

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 68. North northwest wind 5 to 11 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light and variable.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 72. Light northwest wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 72.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Sunday night: A slight chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.
