The National Weather Service forecasts a sunny Saturday in the 70s and a slight chance of rain later on Easter Sunday.
Travis Wilson, with the NWS, says there is a 20 percent chance Sacramento could have some rain on Easter. “There is a possibility we could get showers here, late tomorrow afternoon into the evening,” Wilson says.
The NWS reports that the possible Easter showers will bring cooler air and temperatures early next week, in the early 60s.
A low pressure system that drops out of the Gulf of Alaska could increase Sunday cloud coverage, the NWS reports.
A weekend drive through the Sierras should be a breeze. Saturday’s snow levels are between 7,000 and 8,000 feet and will lower Sunday evening after 5 p.m. to about 6,500 feet. Monday morning snow levels will drop between 3,000 and 4,000 feet, Wilson says. The total snowfall for the weekend is expected to be around 6 inches at the passes, Wilson says.
