Sunny skies and above average heat packed parks in Sacramento on Sunday, heralding more warm weather in the week ahead.

Temperatures exceeded the average of 70 degrees for this time of year, hitting 76 degrees at Sacramento Executive Airport by late afternoon. The unseasonable heat should continue, and Wednesday could bring as much as a ten-degree increase.

Things could cool off toward the end of the week, with precipitation possible on Friday and Saturday.

Here’s the seven-day forecast, per the National Weather Service:

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48. West southwest wind 6 to 8 mph becoming southeast after midnight.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph.

Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 83. North northwest wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 56. North northwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light in the evening.

Wednesday Sunny, with a high near 87.

Wednesday Night Clear, with a low around 57.

Thursday Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

Thursday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Friday A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 69.
