You may want to get your Memorial Day celebrations finished early, or at least be near swimming pool during any late-afternoon barbequing. Sacramento’s cool morning will not last, with temperatures forecast to reach a sweltering high of 98 degrees on Monday.
That is well above normal for this time of year, according to the National Weather Service, which has recorded average high of around 85 degrees. The blistering weather will continue through the rest of the week, likely pushing over 100 degrees on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
Sacramentans can hope for some relief in the evening. The weather service says minor Delta breezes will offer some overnight cooling, dropping temperatures down to the 60s. By Sunday, a high of only 91 is expected, and it will continue to dip slightly into next week.
