After a six consecutive days of temperatures of 100 degrees or more in Sacramento, the long holiday weekend will bring cooler weather.
The forecast is expected to remain in the low 90s throughout the weekend, just in time for Independence Day celebrations. Friday is projected to be 98 degrees, which is above average for early July, according to the National Weather Service.
June brought nine days of 100 degrees or hotter temperatures, but July will start off with consistently low- to mid-90s temperatures.
