Temperatures settle into low 80s for fair-opening weekend in Sacramento

Get ready for simply splendid weather this weekend with daytime high temperatures way cooler than normal in Sacramento.

While the State Fair is sometimes synonymous with hot weather, that won’t be the case with the start of this year’s annual extravaganza along Exposition Boulevard. The weather will be just fine for walking around the grounds.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of just 83 degrees on Saturday and 84 on Sunday. Those temperatures are around 10 degrees below normal.

Friday’s high temperature is expected to be 88 degrees. The fair, which runs through July 24, opens at 10 a.m.

The detailed, seven-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento region:

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 88. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. South wind 7 to 13 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 83. South-southwest wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56. South wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming west-northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 59.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 59.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Tuesday night: Clear, with a low around 59.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 92.

Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 59.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 93.
