Hot State Fair weather forecast for this week

The midway at the State Fair will only get hotter this week as temperatures rise to an expected 100 degrees by Thursday.

Tuesday will also be hot but the prices will be right for families to visit the annual extravaganza on Exposition Boulevard. Kids Free Tuesday means free admission for youngsters 12 and under – and rides are $2 for everyone.

But beware of the heat. Water, snow cones, hats and sunscreen will be needed today with an expected high of 92 forecast for Sacramento.

High pressure will be build through the remainder of the week, according to the National Weather Service. Thursday is forecast to be the hottest day of the week.

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 92. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 61. West northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south after midnight.

Wednesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 61. West northwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.

Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday night: Clear, with a low around 60.

Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 97.

Friday night: Clear, with a low around 61.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 92.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 91.
