After two consecutive days of 100-degree weather, Sacramento may also see a hot Friday -- but the trend is for cooler temperatures over the weekend.

The Delta breeze is expected to pick up some tonight but not before afternoon high temperatures come close to the century mark. The Sacramento region is still somewhat under the influence of a high pressure system.

The high pressure produced a high of 101 on Wednesday, 105 on Thursday and may result in a high of 99 degrees on Friday in Sacramento, according to the National Weather Service.

Some relief is predicted for Saturday, Sunday and Monday as temperatures gradually decrease into the high 80s.
