Sacramento residents will enjoy below average temperatures before the heat rises later this week.

The average temperature Sunday is expected to be about 87 degrees and remain in the mid to high 80s until the end of the week. Temperatures will slowly warm up as the week progresses, though they will remain below average. By the weekend, the city will experience mid 90 degree heat. Average temperatures for July are in the mid to high 90s.

Low atmospheric pressure near the coast will move inland and cause the cool temperatures in the next few days. The city can also expect breezy conditions and some low clouds.
