Unseasonably low Sacramento area temperatures before heat spike

Another mild day in the north state

Below average temperatures are forecast again Tuesday before a warm-up later in the week.

The high on Monday in Sacramento was a pleasant 85 degrees, which is nine degrees below normal for July 18. This being the time of year when Sacramento area temperatures can skyrocket, the weather on Monday was welcome and enjoyed.

The record high for today, July 19, is 110 degrees, a mark set in 1998. Don’t worry, though, because the National Weather Service is predicting an unseasonably mild 86 degrees for Tuesday.

Look for temperatures to gradually increase as the week goes on. By the weekend, the Sacramento region will be flirting with 100 degrees.
