Oven-like temps in Sacramento continue as heat wave bakes the region

Slight cooling from 107 on Wednesday to 103 on Thursday is forecast for Sacramento.

It may not be hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk or bake crispy cookies on a dashboard of an enclosed car, but it will still most likely be the sixth day in a row of 100-degree weather today in Sacramento.

The National Weather Service said that the heat wave that has enveloped the north state for nearly a week will retain its grip for a couple of more days. Forecasters say that there is a chance that temperatures will drop below 100 on Saturday – but just barely.

The high of 107 degrees on Wednesday in Sacramento fell just one degree short of matching the record high for July 27.
