Friday is expected to be the seventh day in a row of 100-degree or higher temperatures in Sacramento.

The National Weather Service is predicting a Friday high of 105 degrees, nearly a dozen degrees above the normal maximum for late July in Sacramento. The week of sweltering weather has included some very hot days:

Saturday: 104 degrees

Sunday: 106

Monday: 103

Tuesday: 108

Wednesday: 107

Thursday: 105

NWS meteorologists are forecasting a break from really hot to merely hot over the weekend. Temperatures are expected to be in the 90s in Sacramento.

However, there is little relief for those to the north: Redding and Red Bluff should cling to triple digits through Monday.

Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 105. South-southeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

Friday night: Clear, with a low around 65. South wind 7 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 99. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 61. South wind 8 to 11 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 61.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 93.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 60.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 96.
