Temperatures are expected to hover in the low 90s this week, saving Sacramentans from the scorching heat that accompanied the end of July, the National Weather Service said.

The days are expected to be sunny and clear and nights are predicted to be cool, with lows in the high 50s, as cooler air flows in from the coast. Early predictions call for higher temperatures toward the end of the week, when ridging in the atmosphere will result in a warming trend that could push thermometers over the 100 degree mark again.
