A slight Delta breeze is shaving a few degrees from what will still be a hot Monday in Sacramento.

After sweltering through a Sunday in which the maximum temperature reached 103 degrees, Sacramento residents could see a little cooler temperature on Monday. The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 97 in downtown Sacramento today, a mark that is still warmer than normal for mid-August.

Look for temperatures to warm through the week as the Delta breeze becomes nearly non-existent. NWS meteorologists say that Tuesday and Wednesday could both be around 100 degrees.
