Touchdown touched my heart

Re “Vinny with the TD! An unforgettable moment” (Sports, Nov. 15): It’s not often a sports story can bring a tear to my eyes. Thanks to The Sacramento Bee, I will remember East Union’s Vinny Torrice’s touchdown run for long time to come.

Torrice, who has Down syndrome and hasn’t played all season, was allowed to score the final touchdown to a cheering crowd.

What a great moment for Vinny and everyone involved. I especially applaud Del Campo High School Athletic Director Sharon Props for coming up with the idea. Moments like this are what make sports great.
