Don’t forget to floss

Re “Flossing’s medical benefits unproven” (Insight, Aug. 3): Due to weak scientific evidence of improved dental health, the federal government has removed the flossing recommendation from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans issued every five years.

My daily personal research shows me that if I go for more than three days without flossing, I can expect gum irritation and possible bleeding. The government is wrong. Floss them.
