Carrie Lo, portfolio manager with the California State Teachers’ Retirement System, has been named to Chief Investment Officer magazine’s prestigious “Forty Under Forty” list of investment professionals under the age of 40.
In a statement, CalSTRS CIO Christopher Ailman said Lo “has been key to the development of our laboratory research team. They are finding ways to offer the portfolio meaningful protection when equities suffer downward market pressure.”
The magazine’s annual “Forty Under Forty” listing recognizes a select group of 40 young, international investment professionals employed by large asset owners, including pension funds, foundations and endowments.
Lo, 39, holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from UC Berkeley and a Master of Finance from London Business School. Prior to coming to CalSTRS, she held jobs as a portfolio manager and research analyst with other asset-management entities.
