49ers: Bruce Miller charged with aggravated assault

Veteran Bruce Miller allegedly attacked two San Francisco hotel guests. He was arrested, and the 49ers released him. Miller also was arrested last year after an incident involving his ex-fiancée in Santa Clara.

Giants: Offensive woes continue in shutout loss to Rockies

Manager Bruce Bochy can’t explain his team’s offensive funk. Following their 6-0 loss to the Colorado Rockies, the Giants dropped four games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, who routed the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-2.

A’s: Alcantra roughed up in debut

Oakland starting pitcher Raul Alcantara’s major-league debut was hardly memorable. He hit three batters in the first inning and lasted just three innings as Oakland fell 10-7.
