Sports Night: Giants’ scuffling continues

A day after ring ceremony, Giants get rung up

Saturday, the Giants received their World Series rings, and then went out and ended their eight-game losing streak. Sunday at AT&T Park, the Arizona Diamondbacks struck early and the Giants barely struck at all in a 5-1 loss. The Giants get a day off to sort things out before hosting the National League West-division leading Dodgers beginning Tuesday.

A’s lose their battle Royals finale

Oakland and Kansas City concluded a contentious three-game series Sunday, and the Royals got in the last licks with a 4-2 victory that included five K.C. player ejections. A’s starter Scott Kazmir left in the eighth inning with a 2-1 lead and the A’s left Kansas City angry after a stinging defeat.

Duvall collects River Cats’ first cycle

The River Cats are in their 16th season. Until Sunday, no player had ever hit for the cycle, but Adam Duvall did in a 15-7 win at Salt Lake. Duvall went 5 for 6 with two doubles and four RBIs. Teammate Darren Ford finished a single shy of a cycle and was in the on-deck circle when the top of the ninth inning ended.
