PUEBLA, Mexico (AP) -- Edgar Robles scored on an error, Francisco Rivera scored on an error, Abraham Lopez scored on an error and Edgar Munoz scored on an error in the second inning, leading the Algodoneros Union Laguna to a 7-5 win over the Pericos de Puebla on Tuesday.
The play gave the Algodoneros a 5-0 lead.
Trailing 7-1, the Pericos cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Jesus Arredondo hit a three-run home run.
The Pericos saw their comeback attempt come up short after Issmael Salas hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to cut the Laguna lead to 7-5.
Laguna right-hander Frankie De La Cruz (2-0) picked up the win after allowing one run on just three hits over five innings. Opposing starter Logan Duran (1-1) took the loss in the Mexican League game after a rough outing in which he allowed five runs and seven hits over 4 2/3 innings.
