• 1. Start strong: The Kings have been prone to slow starts defensively this season. For the Kings to have their best chance of beating the Spurs, they can’t fall behind big.
• 2. Gay’s place: Rudy Gay’s role on the Kings continues to evolve after eight games with the team. His offense was big in Friday’s win over Miami as he showed he could be a go-to player down the stretch.
• 3. Turnover problems: The Kings had been near the top of the NBA in fewest turnovers per game but have slipped to 12th at 14.4 per game entering Saturday. With the struggles the Kings have had on defense, they cannot afford to give the Spurs extra possessions off turnovers.
