River Cats glance: Ladendorf, Nieve help Cats top Bees


• Highlight: Tyler Ladendorf had three hits and three RBIs, and Fernando Nieve had his second save in two nights to lead the River Cats to a 5-4 comeback victory over the Salt Lake Bees on Saturday night at Raley Field.

• Patient rewards: Through 10 games, the River Cats lead the Pacific Coast League in walks with 54. The River Cats, who had five walks and three hits batsmen Saturday, have led the PCL in walks the past two years with 643 in 2013 and 657 in 2012.

• Rare treat: Today’s doubleheader is only the third at Raley Field. The most recent was July 23, 2011, against Reno. The other was played June 15, 2007, against Las Vegas. The River Cats split both.
