Sacramento River Cats’ trip begins with loss in Salt Lake

Salt Lake beat the visiting Sacramento River Cats 6-4 on Saturday night in the first game of the River Cats’ two-week, 13-game trip.

A five-run fifth inning was key for the Bees, with the big blow coming on a three-run, two-out home run by Alfredo Marte.

Jarrett Parker had a big night for Sacramento, going 3 for 4 with two doubles. Designated hitter Juan Perez hit a solo homer in the fourth.

Ty Blach (9-9) took the loss for the River Cats, allowing all of Salt Lake’s runs in five innings of work.
