San Francisco to host downtown parade Friday, River Cats charter two buses for fans

The City and County of San Francisco will hold a ticker-tape victory parade for the three-time World Series champion San Francisco Giants Friday at noon. The parade will not be called for for rain, and the forecast calls for 80-percent chance.

The parade route will begin on Market and Steuart streets in front of the Ferry Building in San Francisco, continue west up Market to the Civic Center, where the Giants and an number of others will speak about the team, the season and winning the championship.

The Sacramento River Cats, the new Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, has chartered two buses to Friday's ticker-tape victory parade in San Francisco for the minor-league team's ticket members and fans.

The buses will depart from Raley Field on Friday at 7 a.m. and return between 4-5 p.m. Fans can reserve spots on the buses by callilng (916) 371-HITS (4487).

▪  Public transportation from Sacramento: Capitol Corridor Train No. 531 departs at 8:20 a.m., and No. 533 departs at 9:20 a.m. -- both to Richmond. From there fans can take BART train to the Embarcadero Station in San Francisco. Go to capitolcorridor.org and bart.gov for more information.
