The Kings entered the All-Star break in a 2-8 slump and fell from eighth to 10th place in the Western Conference, but DeMarcus Cousins says he’ll “just stay positive” that the team can turn things around in the second half and push for a postseason berth.

NBA All-Star Game: Bryant goes out a winner

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant finishes with 10 points, so few that he loses his career lead in All-Star scoring to LeBron James. Still, Bryant’s 18th and final NBA All-Star Game is a winning one as the West rolls to a 196-173 victory Sunday in Toronto. The 369 total points is by far a record.

Furillo: UC Davis men’s basketball team deals with adversity

The UC Davis Aggies reside in the middle of the Big West pack, a much different place for the men’s basketball team that won the regular-season conference championship last season. Despite the struggles, the Aggies have kept their soul. “I can’t ask for more from this group – they’re giving it to me every day,” coach Jim Les said.

Pebble Beach: Taylor wins as Mickelson falters

Vaughn Taylor ran off four consecutive birdies on the back nine at Pebble Beach to close with a 7-under-par 65 and earn his first PGA Tour victory in more than a decade Sunday. He was one shot better than Phil Mickelson, who missed a 5-foot putt on 18 that would have forced a playoff.
