Today: CINCO DE MARIO (fourth race) is the rare State Fair starter with a prior win over the Cal Expo track. Once classy, this 6-year-old gelding was named in honor of jockey Mario Gutierrez, who won the 2012 Kentucky Derby aboard I’ll Have Another on Cinco de Mayo (May 5, 2012).

The bet: $15 win/place on Cinco de Mario; $5 exacta box Cinco de Mario, Colorado Strong and Sir Vronski.
