Sacramento State scored on its first two shots and limited visiting Cleveland State to two shots on goal in a 2-0 men’s soccer win Sunday, Sac State reported.
Chimdum Mez and Cody Hoster scored for the Hornets.
The Hornets are 2-2-1; the Vikings are 2-4-0.
Neither team registered a shot over the first 13 minutes before Mez’s goal. Hoster scored in the 21st minute.

• Utah’s Megan Trabert scored on a header that deflected off the bottom of the crossbar two minutes into overtime as the Utes beat host UC Davis 1-0 in women’s soccer, UCD reported.
The Aggies are 3-5; the Utes are 5-0-2.

Sean Grady scored the winning goal on a power play with 28 seconds left in the sudden-victory period, lifting the host Tigers to an 11-10 men’s water polo win over UCD.
Teddy Nicholson and Sean Grab each scored three goals for the Aggies (1-5), who rallied from a 6-2 halftime deficit.
Pacific is 3-1.
