Andrea Wong of UC Davis shot a 5-under-par 67 in the second round Saturday to post a three-shot victory in stroke play at the East & West Match Play Challenge in Ann Arbor, Mich., the school reported.
Wong had a 4-under 140 total for her first collegiate win and fourth top-10 finish, and the Aggies finished second as a team to advance to the championship bracket of match play. The three-day tournament is designed to resemble the reformatted NCAA Championships scheduled for May.
UC Davis faces third-seeded Wisconsin in one semifinal today, and top-seeded Ohio State and fourth-seeded SMU meet in the other. Winners and losers face each other Monday.

Earthquakes’ winless streak increases to nine
Jack McInerney and Dilly Duka scored in the final 10 minutes to give the host Montreal Impact a 2-0 Major League Soccer victory over the Earthquakes.
The Impact (6-17-6) is last in the Eastern Conference and was officially eliminated from the playoff picture after victories by Columbus and New York.
San Jose (6-12-10) is eighth in the Western Conference. The Earthquakes are 0-4-5 in their last nine matches.
Huston wins men’s race; Hornets’ women prevail
Jacob Huston of Sacramento State won the men’s race, and the Hornets took the women’s team title at the Mustang Challenge cross country meet in Santa Clarita, the school reported.
Huston completed the 8-kilometer race in 25 minutes, 46 seconds, winning by 13.6 seconds to lead Sac State to a third-place finish.
Chloe Berlioux led the Hornets’ women by finishing third in the 5-kilometer race in 18:24.4.
American River College beats Delta in football
Tanner Trosin hit Marc Ellis for a first-half touchdown, Ben Trumm made two field goals, and Damion Sanders scored a defensive touchdown for the second consecutive game as American River College beat San Joaquin Delta 19-10 in Stockton.
A week after returning an interception for a score to help beat De Anza on the road, Sanders returned a fourth-quarter fumble 12 yards for the clinching score for the Beavers, ranked fourth in Northern California.
ARC (3-0) had 10 sacks, including two each by Taka Umufuke, Jordan Carrell and Tevita Mafi.
The Beavers host national power City College of San Francisco next Saturday night.
• Katie Quinn posted eight kills and a career-high 12 blocks to lead UC Davis over Hampton 25-19, 17-25, 25-19, 25-14 on the second day of the Northern Colorado Classic women’s volleyball tournament in Greeley, Colo., UCD reported. The Aggies (5-8) earlier lost to Northern Colorado 25-23, 14-25, 16-25, 28-26, 12-15.
• Chris Richardson and Sean Grab scored four goals each as 11th-ranked UC Davis beat Pomona-Pitzer 11-6 in the Kap7 NorCal Classic men’s water polo tournament in Stockton. The Aggies (2-6) also lost to sixth-ranked Pacific 14-6.
